Nicky Fisher appointed as President of Insolvency Trade Body R3
Nicky Fisher FMAAT FIPA FABRP takes the reins today as the new President of R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
Nicky has a wealth of experience of helping to guide professional bodies, having been a member of the council of the IPA for several years and the President of the AAT in 2017/18.
Although the vast majority of R3’s members work in smaller practices, Nicky is the first such practitioner to become President of R3 for several years. This is a challenging time for the profession, with the economy ravaged by Covid, Brexit and the war in Ukraine.
“In what will be characterised as a year of change and uncertainty for the profession, I do not underestimate the challenges that lay ahead. Whether it be changes on the regulatory horizon, responding to legislative shifts, or ensuring the profession has a strong voice when it is needed most, I have absolutely no doubt that the profession will rise to these challenges. Most importantly, I want to make sure the value that the profession brings to the wider UK economy during these volatile times is understood and heard by all of the UK’s stakeholders.”
Although it is an honour to be the President of R3, it is not an honorary position. Nicky is looking forward to working hard in her role and you will see a lot of her in the coming year.
